Jayanti Natarajan is a fiery Indian politician belonging to the Indian National Congress (INC). Recently, she resigned from all party posts, after her letter to Ms. Sonia Gandhi was leaked by The Hindu newspaper. In the letter, she accused Rahul Gandhi of interfering in her administrative affairs as an Environment Minister to block some good projects. However, it must be noted here that she blocked those projects without applying her mind. It is also a case how the India Story was blocked by some NGOs with vested interest.
Jayanti Natarajan belongs to a political and very influential family of Tamil Nadu. She is the dauther of C. R. and Rukmini Sundarajan. Her grandfather was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. After completing her education from Madras, she became a lawyer. She was also involved with social work with All India Women’s Conference.
Husband of J. Natarajan
Janati Natarajan is married to V. K. Natarajan. This was a love marriage. Jayanti had seen V. K. Natarajan during her initial days and instantly fell for her. The couple married with the family consent and they have a son.
It is said that when V K Natarajan heard Modi referring to a Jayanti Tax, he asked Jayanti to clarify publicly. But, Jayanti remained silent because her clarification could have dented image of the party. After the election, Mr. Natarajan kept requesting Jayanti for the same. She wrote the letter to Sonia Gandhi, but this couldn’t clear her image in the public perception. It was her husband idea to leak the letter to The Hindu so that her name can come out clean.
