Hate him or love him, but you can’t ignore Arnab Goswami. He is the former Editor in Chief of Times Now (and also of ET Now). In journalism circle, he is known for shouting out on his guests at News Hour. News junkies may call it quite ridiculous – you should not call a guest and just yell on him/her by giving a hint that the person has no intellectual capacity to talk to you on a matter of national importance. Recently, he had taken a firm stand on issues of nationalism and had become a hated figure among pseduo liberal class of India.
And, needless to say, he is also known for his trademark sentence – The Nation Wants to Know.
A Popular Journalist
As I said earlier, some loathe him and some love him, but one thing is quite clear that he is impartial on political matters. He is abused and mocked on Twitter by supporters of almost all parties. General V K Singh called him (and Times Now) presstitute which created a sort of storm in the Indian media. Ashish Khetan of AAP accused him of not following news against Narendra Modi. Congress leaders and supporters always try to make people remember that his father was a BJP politician (forgetting that his grandfather was a Congress politician). Recent events coupled with his stand on nationalism made him aligned with the political stand of the ruling party of India.
It is said that in the contemporary times of Twitter and Facebook, if you are abused by everyone, then you should take it as a compliment (relevant only for journalist and social activists, though).
