Reports coming out of AIIMS aren’t encouraging for all of us who want to see Atal Ji alive for many more years. The Bhishma Pitamah of Indian politics has slipped into coma. He is kept on the ventilator support.
Atal Ji was admitted with a complaint of severe urine problem. He is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and hence it was Ranjan who noticed pale yellow urine. He doubted that there is little bit of blood in the urine. The test was done and doctors found not only a case of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), but also serious issues with his kidney.
Dialysis was done at the AIIMS. Antibacterial medicines were injected to control UTI. Initially, it was thought that he will be at home within 24 hours. AIIMS also issued a medical bulletin calling it a simple case of UTI. People who are aware of the issue instantly got a hint. Atal Ji will not be admitted for UTI. This was so simple.
Within next two days, signs of multiple organ failure were there. A fight is going on under the able leadership of Dr. Randeep Guleria. He is taking care of Atal Ji since 1998.
As things stand, Atal Ji is technically still alive.
This is also not the first time when he is kept on ventilator support. He was in the same situation in 2016 and had successfully overcome the problem.
Hopefully, the fighter will again make a thumping victory.
AIIMS is also not issuing any new medical bulletins.
Fingers are crossed.
Health is something a very private matter. And, there is absolute nothing wrong in keeping it a secret. When it comes to an old person like Vajpayee ji, it becomes even more important. His family and attendants have every right to keep off his real status away from media glare.
In search of sensation, TRP hungry Indian media gives push to any news about his death.
There is nothing as such.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee is quite close to his family members. His daughter Namita (adopted) takes care of all his needs. Apart from that his close associate Shiv Lal Yadav keeps track of everything related to Vajpayee, including his health. Mr. Yadav has always been the most trusted person of Vajpayee ji, even during his Prime Ministerial days. In an interview, Mr. Yadav started to weep bitterly while discussing a recent happening about Vajpyee ji. He told that once sitting on a wheel chair and listening to an old Lata Mangeshkar song, Vajpayee ji saw his picture hanging on the wall. He made a gesture to Mr. Yadav and asked him ‘ yeh buzurg kaun hai? Actually, Vajpayee ji could not recognize his own photo.
At this moment, let us pray for our beloved former Prime Minister. May God give him strength to survive the current health problems he is bearing with.
