Shazia Ilmi is an Indian
politician, journalist and social activist. She is a senior BJP leader of
Delhi. She had started her political career with Arvind Kejriwal led AAP.
However, Arvind Kejriwal didn’t like her questioning some of the policies. She
was sidelines and forced to resign from the party.
Shazia Ilmi is being
seen as a sensible politician. She has taken a firm stand on many controversial
issues, like that of Triple Talaq and Rafale Deal. Her erudite and exceptional
debating skills have immensely helped the BJP. She is expected to fight the
next Lok Sabha Election from New Delhi (BJP is all set to replace Meenakshi
Lekhi).

Shazia Ilmi was born and
brought up in Kanpur in a highly educated family. Her father was a well – known
journalist who was revered for his strong nationalistic opinion. He was a
person who had faith in the Indian secularism.
Shazia did schooling
from Kanpur and Shimla. She has completed a diploma in Mass Communication from
the prestigious Zamia Milia Islamia. After that, she has worked with many top
notch media organization as journalist and anchor, including Star News (Now,
ABP News). She left the field of journalism to work as a social activist. The
culmination point of her career was Anna Andolan of 2011 where she was one of
the core members along with Kejriwal, Kumar Vishwas and Manish Sisodia.

Shazia Ilmi is married
to Sajid Malik. He is a successful business person. Recently, he has also joined
the BJP. He is actually half Gujarati and half Tamil Iyer.
Sajid Malik has lots of
real estate properties in the national capital region. The family owns many
plots in South Delhi and Gurgaon.
There is no information
in the public domain about children of Shazia Ilmi. Once she had said that she
can’t fight against Sonia Gandhi because of her daughter’s exam. However, in
the election affidavit, she had mentioned that she has no offspring.
There is also ongoing
battle for properties of Ilmi family. Rashid Ilmi, the brother of Shazia, had accused
her of usurping ancestral properties.
