the CEO of Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce platform. He had co-founded it
with Sachin Bansal in 2007. In a very short span of time, Flipkart has become
the greatest success story of India’s internet based business. It is now in a

Binny Bansal was
born in Chandigarh and studied till 12th from the same city. Later,
he did B. Tech Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
There was another Bansal in his class who, quite interestingly, was also from
Chandigarh and had studied from the same school. His name was Sachin. Both of
were of same age and became good friends. It was nothing short of an
interesting coincidence that both of them both of them worked with Amazon. Sachin
started to work with Amazon in 2006 and Binny joined Amazon in 2007. In the
end, they decided to start an online store in India for books named Flipkart,
which later became a complete e-commerce website, not just for books.
Sachin became
the CEO of Flipkart while Binny started to look nuts and bolts as its Chief
Operating Officer. Recently, in a major restructure, Binny was named as the new
CEO of Flipkart.
