Sudhir Chaudhary is the Editor - in - Chief of Zee News, WION, DNA and Zee Business. He is also the business head of Zee News. He has replaced veteran Satish Singh who had worked with the channel for 14 years. It means Sudhir is not only handling presentation and editorial angle of Zee News, but he is also responsible for bringing money/making profit for the channel.

Ever since Sudhir has joined the channel in 2012, it has seen astronomical rise in terms of TRPs. Previously, it was not ranked among top 10 Hindi Channels. Now, it is among top 3. Sudhir Chaudhary is credited for making this transmogrification in the prime fortune of Subhash Chandra.

It should also be mentioned that Sudhir was involved in a major controversy just after joining the channel where a case of extortion was filed against him and another journalist for trying to extort money from Navin Jindal.

When it comes to chronicling private news channels in India, the name of Sudhir Chaudhary will always be mentioned. Zee News was the first which had heralded the revolution of 24 hour news channel. Sudhir had joined the channel in 1993 when it was just started. He has seen all that have happened in this arena.

Sudhir had left Zee News in 2003 when Sahara group planned to launch a news channel and they badly needed an experienced person. They couldn’t find a better match than Sudhir. He was instrumental in launching Sahara Samay.

Later, Sudhir joined India TV and made what it is today. You may ridicule India TV for being a non-serious news channel. But, with low budget, this Rajat Sharma led channel is ranked second just after Aaj Tak.

Sudhir again moved on and joined Live India news channel as its editor-in-chief. He was again instrumental in launching this channel, the second channel which he had helped launched. However, Live India got mingled in a heinous controversy where a fake sting operation was run to defame a simple school teacher. When the sting operation was shown on the channel, people went to the school and drag the innocent teacher – Uma Khurana – on the road and made her naked. Sudhir was blamed for that episode. However, he denied saying that he just approved the video as given by the reporter Prakash Singh and he had no intention of the malicious intent of the reporter.

Currently, Sudhir is blamed for being a front of the BJP. There is no denying that Sudhir Chaudhary is taking sides with BJP. He is seen quite close to Amit Shah. His stand on JNU controversy is always questioned.

Sudhir Chaudhary has done B.A from Delhi University. Later, he joined IIMC and did Diploma in Journalism from this premier institution.

Sudhir Chaudhary is married to Niti Chaudhary. The couple has a son. Niti was in the news for leading a candle march for the release of Sudhir when he was in jail in the Jindal Extortion case.
