Dr. Ankita Chakravarty, IAS: Profile, Family and Husband

Ankita Chakravarty had cleared UPSC Civil Services Examination in her first attempt with All India Rank of 17. That was a marvelous performance by a trained doctor. Her achievement was celebrated by Panchkula, the city of her residence. She is now an IAS officer and her performance in short span of time is more than enough to say that she is going to make everyone proud.

Profile of Ankita  Chakravarty

Ankita was born in 1988 in Panchkula. Both of her parents are doctors and practicing in Panchkula. Her elder sister is also a doctor who is working in Delhi with a corporate hospital as a radiologist. In fact, Ankita was born in a family of doctors.

Ankita was a brilliant student from her school. Her achievement in 10^th and 12^th examination was simply scintillating. She had scored 97% in her class 10^th examination. In the environment where she was growing up, it was quite natural for her to prepare for Medical Entrance Examination. She prepared and got admission in AIIMS – the best medical college of India. She completed MBBS degree in 2011 and started preparation for UPSC Civil Services Examination. She deserted the idea of getting high education in medicine and concentrate on her Civil Services preparation. 

In 2012, she appeared in Civil Services Examination and cracked it easily and comfortably.

Ankita Chakravarty had given Haryana as her first choice and Punjab as the second. She couldn’t get her first choice and settled with Punjab cadre, her second choice.

However, she was destined to change cadre in the future.

Husband of Dr. Ankita Chakravarty

Dr. Ankita Chakravarty is married to Naveen Aggarwal. It should be noted that like Ankita Naveen is also a doctor turned IAS officer. Like Ankita, Naveen has also done MBBS from AIIMS. In fact, he was senior to Ankita in AIIMS. Naveen had got All India Rank of 31^st. He is basically from Patiala.

However, there was a problem. Naveen was given AGMUT cadre and because of some circumstances it became impossible for the Government to change his cadre. Ankita had to file for change of cadre and given AGMUT. Hence, both are now in the same cadre. It should be noted that for Naveen, Ankita has changed a cadre which was her second choice.
