Dinesh Kumar P, IPS: Profile, Family and Wife

Dinesh Kumar P is one of the most upright and honest police officers of Uttar Pradesh. He is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 2009 batch. Ever since joining UP Police, he has remained a frightened figure for criminals and mafia. He is known for being a no – nonsense officer and hence has never been given an extended period of posting. It is a matter of great grief to know that such a honest officer has been transferred for 15 times in a short career of around 7 years. And, majority of time, he has been kept at shunting position, like with PAC with no role in maintaining law and order. Once he was transferred out of Jaunpur as SP within 6 days of posting.

Needless to say, Dinesh Kumar P is also a terror among politicians of UP. Hopefully, Adityanath Yogi Government will use his services in controlling law and order situation of the state.

Biography of Dinesh Kumar P

Dinesh was born and brought up in Mettur (Salem district), Tamil Nadu. After completing schooling from Mettur, he went to Chennai for Graduation. Later, he came to Delhi for Civil Services Preparation. He cracked UPSC Civil Services Exam in his very first attempt and had secured All India Rank of 345. Being an OBC by caste, this rather low rank ensured that he got his second choice of services – IPS. However, he couldn’t get his home state Tamil Nadu.

The first posting Dinesh got in UP was under Mayawati Government in Aligarh as ASP. Few months later, he was transferred to Agra. He continued to get transferred order every few months and served in various district for short period like Jhansi, Kanpur and Bijnor, among others. He was never given sufficient time to serve in any district. However, even with short period of time, he was succeeded in making a place in the heart of general masses.

Both Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav Governments had posted Dinesh for long duration at PAC. It is now up to Yogi Government to let this honest officer to show the world what difference people centric policing can make.

Dinesh Kumar’s family members are residing in Mettur. He is in UP with wife and children. His father Mr. P. Prabhu is a revered figure of Mettur who has always shown keen interest in helping people in need. He has inculcated the same values to Dinesh Kumar P.
