Shilpa Gupta is a 2008 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh Cadre. She is widely believed as one of the most hard working and honest officers of MP. In a career spanning around one decade, she has successfully made a mark for herself. While working as DM in various districts, she has been at the forefront in ensuring Government programs and policies reaching to people who needs them.

Shilpa is also quite controversial. In her attitude to stick with the rule book, she has enraged many people. In fact, journalists had recently boycotted the election coverage because of her attitude. It must be added, that she was not wrong there.

Shilpa Gupta is known for not working under the pressure of politicians. She was not having good terms with powerful BJP leaders. In fact, she was transferred out of Morena when the result of her scintillating work was obvious.
