Abdur Rahman, IPS: Profile, Wiki and Family

Abdur Rahman is a Maharashtra cadre IPS officer. He is known for spewing venom against Hindus during duty. He is also a rare officer who was involved in the corruption, and even in those cases he used to give preferences to only Muslims. In a highly publicized corruption case, Mr. Rahman was alleged to have recruited thousands of Muslims for the post of police constable.

Abdur Rahman has recently resigned calling it a civil disobedience against Citizenship Amendment Bill. There is no denying that it is his right to resign or to resort to any other peaceful means of protest. However, one should also not put focus away from the fact that Rahman has lied even in this case.

Rahman had requested for voluntary retirement in August. His request was rejected by the Home Ministry in October. And, now, he has written to the concerned authority that he will not be available for the service.

He had called it civil disobedience against CAB.

Abdur Rahman is a highly educated person. He has done B. Tech. from IIT – Kanpur. In that context, he is another example of a well – educated Muslim becoming a closet Islamist.
