He told the interviewer that the marriage means an immediate family which will definitely distract him from his immediate concerns of doing good to India. You may say that this is nothing but a distorted logic, but for the moment remain sure that he is not going to tie the knot at least till the completion of this General Election.

 Before this the entire Indian media were aware of a girl in the life of Rahul Gandhi. However, they used to refer her as Junaita, not Veronique. Further, the media used to refer her as a waitress (Sonia Gandhi was also a waitress when she came in contact with Rajiv Gandhi).

 At that time Rahul evaded any question relating to his future plans, including marriage.
It was, in fact, Vernonique with whom Rahul Gandhi was seen enjoying a World Cricket match in England (1999). After that, the couple had a long holidy along with Robert and Priyanka Vadra few images of which were leaked to media in 2003.
