Shishir Sinha, IAS: Profile, Wiki, Caste and Family

Shishir Sinha is a former IAS officer of Bihar cadre. He has taken Voluntary Retirement from IAS in 2018 – three months prior to his retirement. Later, Nitish Kumar persuaded him to become the Chairman of BPSC. He is a 1982 batch officer and will remain at the helm of BPSC till July, 2020. 


Mr. Shishir Sinha has become a sort of case study for administrative student. In a very short span of time, he has transmogrified BPSC. In fact, this state Commission has become role model for other states. Civil Services aspirants are in awe of Mr. Sinha for miraculous work he has done. 

Notifications are coming out on time. Exams are being organized on time and results are being declared after minimum possible duration. Nine months used to be the duration for BPSC to declare just preliminary results. Shishir Sinha brought that down to around two months.
