Arnab Goswami is the Editor – in – Chief of the most watched Indian English News Channel, Republic TV along with its sister Hindi News Channel Republic Bharat. He is also the majority shareholder of Republic News Group. He was previously with NDTV and Times Now. He is credited to making Times Now a popular English Channel with his unique prime time shows and interviews with famous personalities. It was his stand on nationalism and strong pro India attitude which compelled him to quit Times Now.



Arnab Goswami is also widely criticized for his penchant to change the narrative against Narendra Modi with Republic TV. In fact, Congress and other opposition parties have virtually boycotted Republic TV.

Wife: Samyabrata Ray Goswami, she is also a journalist and currently works alongside Arnab for Republic Group. She has previously worked with The Telegraph, Telehlka and Down To Earth Magazine.

Children: Arnab Goswami has one son. The family lives in Mumbai.

Awards and Recognition:
Arnab Goswami had won Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2008.

Salary and Net Asset:
Arnab Goswami current Salary at Republic TV, which is owned by him is not known. He used to get Rs. 6 crores per annum when he was with Times Now. As for Net Worth, it is yet to be estimated correctly as the valuation of Republic TV has not been done by any independent auditor. Arnab has said that whatever the valuation might be, he will invest the money back into his media business.

Interesting Facts and News:
Arnab’s father had fought 1998 Lok Sabha Election on BJP ticket from Guwahati. He had lost the election.

Goswami uncle (brother of his mother) is a well – known BJP leader from Assam. He is also the current MLA Guwahati East. His name is Siddhartha Bhattacharya.

Arnab Goswami had started his journalism career with Telegraph in Kolkata. He had soon moved to Delhi to join NDTV. He had quit NDTV because of differences with Rajdeep Sardesai (who was then working with NDTV). Arnab and Rajdeep never enjoyed any sort of cordial relationship.


Major General (Retired) V.K. Singh had once called him presstitute, which had created a storm in the media.
