Radhika Rupani, Daughter of Gujarat CM: A Profile

Gujarat has got its new Chief Minister the soft spoken and a great task master Vijay Rupani. This move by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah has surprised many political observers. Indian media is particularly shocked to see that in this age of caste based politics the BJP can select a leader on the basis of performance rather than caste identity. Everyone was expecting Nitin Patel because of the resentment in the strong Patel Community. However, as things turned out, it was a Rupani who belongs to Jain Bania community have minuscule presence in Gujarat as far as numerical strength goes.

One of the happiest persons with this selection is none other than the daughter of Vijay Rupani. Her name is Radhika Rupani who is the life of her father. She has great faith in the ability of her father to deliver on promises. She is intelligent and endowed with amazing debating skills. However, she has no interest in the politics. For Radhika, everything is her family – parents, husband, in-laws and brother.

Radhika was born and brought up in Rajkot. While growing up, she witnessed the potential of her father as the Mayor of the city. She was a very good student and took admission in H L College of Commerce in Ahmedabad for B. Com. She was eyeing to become a CA, but couldn’t get through despite trying her best. She worked with Deloitte in Ahmedabad and later shifted to London in 2015 with her husband and son.

Radhika came in contact with a guy named Nimit Mishra while doing graduation from H L College of Commerce. They became friend and very soon found that they can’t live without each other. Vijay Rupani had no problem with their relationship, but asked them to focus on study. When Nimit Mishra completed Chartered Accountancy course, they decided to get married. They were from different religion (Hindu and Jain) and also different caste, but both families supported their relationship.

Radhika has a son named Shaurya. The family is currently living in London. They may shift base to Ahmedabad as Vijay Rupani is trying to get help of Nimit Mishra’s acumen who is a brilliant person.
