D. K. Shivakumar: Profile, Family, Age, Net Asset and Daughter

D. K. Shivakumar is one of the most powerful politicians of Karnataka. Known for amassing huge wealth in his mining business, he is in politics to protect his properties. He was a senior minister in two previous state governments. 

 D. K. was seen as the beacon of hope for Congress in South India. His devotion to save H D Kumaraswami Government has been widely recognized. He is now arrested by ED on the charges of money laundering. Whether he has done any financial irregularities or not will be decided by the judicial system, but one thing is very much clear and that is the fact that he is a victim of political vindictiveness. 



Wiki and Biography of D. K. Shivakumar

DKS was born and brought up in Alahalli village of Kanakpura in a lower middle class family. His father Kempegowda was a renowned social worker and farmer. He belongs to numerically powerful Vokalliga community. He is currently the biggest Vokalliga leader of Congress after the exit of M. S. Krishna.

DKS did schooling from Kanakpura and later shifted to Bangalore for higher studies. He joined R. C. College Bangalore and his years at this college changed his life. First, he started as a student leader of R. C. College where he used to take issues and problems of students to the concerned authorities. His amazing interpersonal communication skills made him highly popular during those days. Soon, an invitation came from the Congress party to join Youth Congress which he couldn’t resist. He became the state secretary of Youth Congress in 1983 and became a sensation with his fervent attempt to bring pro – student issues to the politicians and administration.

Congress gave him ticket in 1989 from Sathanur which he easily won. He has represented Kanakpura and Sathanur for five times. Being a senior leader, he has also discharged the duty of cabinet minister many times. It should be noted that he first fought an assembly election when he was only 25 years old against the veteran Vokalliga leader and former Prime Minister H. D. Devegowda. He lost this election by a small margin, but let the national leader notice his capability. He had also became a minister at the age of 30 years.

Wife and Family of D. K. Shivakumar

DKS got married to Mrs. Usha Shivashivakumar in 1993. Usha is also a Vokalliga by caste and the marriage was love – cum – arrange where both families gave consent to the wishes of their children. DKS and Usha have three children and the family resides in Bengaluru. His daughter has huge fan following on her Facebook Page.

The brother of DKS – Mr. D. K. Suresh is also a senior Congress politician. 

Net Asset of D. K. ShivaKumar

It is simply impossible to estimate the net asset of D. K. Shivakumar. Even the Income Tax department is finding it tough to make correct estimation. The reason is his assets and plots lying across the world.

In the election affidavit filed by Shivakumar for 2018 Assembly Election, he has declared net worth of Rs. 618 Crores. This is obviously the white value (at Circle rate) of his properties. The real properties may be many times of it.
