P - 120 Paracetamol Paediatric Oral Suspension: Review and Side Effects


I was introduced by P - 120 Paracetamol Pediatric Suspension when the doctor prescribed it to my son. I had consulted the doctor as my son was having recurrent fever along with cough. 



I bought one 60 ml bottle of this suspension. It is manufactured by Apex Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. One bottle cost me Rs. 33 which is not as such costly if we compare with other brands available in the market. The suspension comes in plain bottle. 

There is not any dropper provided by the manufacturer. I had to use one old dropper to administer the medicine to my baby. The pediatrician had suggested me to give this medicine as SOS - when there is a need. It means I was supposed to give it when my son is having fever. Otherwise, it is not supposed to be given. The dose was 5 ml for one time administration. 

I gave the suspension to my baby when I noticed that he has fever more than 100 degree Celsius. Actually, this was also suggested by the doctor that the medicine should be given only after fever crosses this mark. I noticed that the fever goes down and his body temperature becomes normal within 10 minutes. 

He started to behave normally. The other antibiotic was working for cough which led to him being completely cured within three days. I continued to give P - 120 in suggested dose whenever there was necessity. My son never showed any sort of problem after taking it. I also noticed that he likes the taste. There is also no issue with ingestion as he never complained about nausea or dizziness. 

Within next few days, I again needed this medicine for my son. This time he was vaccinated. The doctor had clearly advised me to give 5 ml within one hour of vaccination. I would like to mention here that this time there was no suggestion about the level of body temperature as was previously suggested to me. The doctor told me that this suspension not only works in reducing fever, but it is also great when it comes to handling pain. And, pain is expected as three vaccines were administered at three locations. It helped me to easily manage the after effect of vaccination. 

Overall, P - 120 is a great Paracetamol product which is especially marketed for infants. It works quickly in handling both body temperature and pain.
